    Excerpt
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) warned the public against eating shellfish from the town of Carles, Iloilo due to red tide contamination. In a shellfish bulletin issued by BFAR Central office last November 24, the coastal waters of Gigantes Islands in Carles were found positive of red tide toxin. BFAR-6 Regional Director Remia Aparri, in a phone interview with The Daily Guardian yesterday, said Carles remains positive of paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) and they continue to monitor the area.
