A red tide alert has also been raised in several areas in northern Negros Occidental. Mayors Patrick Escalante of Cadiz City and David Lacson of EB Magalona town confirmed on Dec. 24 the occurrence of red tide in their respective localities. Coastal waters in Barangay Sicaba, Cadiz City, were found positive for red tide after a test on Dec. 23, said Escalante.
