The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 6 (BFAR6) is stepping up efforts on information, education and communication campaign on a new law which amended the Philippine Fisheries Code. Republic Act 10654, an act to prevent, deter, and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUUF), amending RA No. 8550, otherwise known as the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998, became a law in February this year. The law focuses on making people aware of the various types of IUUF and what disadvantages they could bring.
