local.seafdecaqd.extractResearch results conducted by scientists from the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) and the University of the Philippines in the Visayas (UPV) at Panagatan Cays (shoal) in Caluya Group of Islands, Antique, showed brown and green Kappaphycus alvarezii growth rate and yield were higher from September to February. Lowest data were recorded in July to August and the highest in January to February. Culture techniques applied included hanging hinging long-line, fixed off-bottom long line and combination of the two. Culture period were done in 60-days and 90-days at six and four periods respectively spread throughout the year to complete the observation.en
