A seminar-workshop on mangrove education was held at the SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department in Tigbauan, Iloilo last 2-4 May 2005 and attended by 23 teacher-educators from public and private schools in Panay Island. The seminar-workshop was a collaboration among SEAFDEC/AQD, the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of Region 6, and funded by the Pew Fellows Program on Marine Conservation. Participants came from one primary, 10 secondary and 12 tertiary schools in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo. There were two observers.
