The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) is taking bold steps to facilitate mangrove reforestation and rehabilitation through local governance. Dr. J.H. Primavera, Senior Aquaculture Specialist at the SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department, said SEAFDEC, under the Pew Fellows Program, will convene local officials from Panay and Guimaras provinces during the Mangrove Seminar-Workshop on Local Governance. The activity is scheduled on August 17-20, 2005 at the Sampaguita Gardens Resort in New Washington town.
