    Excerpt
Rep. Angelo Palmones of the Agham Party-list on Tuesday has called on the attention of concerned institutions and individuals for appropriate action to avoid another incidence of fish kill in Taal Lake, saying that fishes in the area were reportedly have no appetite to eat. Palmones said the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) determined major causes of oxygen depletion as overcrowding of fish cages, overfeeding and disregard of prescribed fish cage size. “Fish lack of appetite is a sign of stress which could be due to lack of oxygen present in the water, or oxygen depletion,” Palmones said. He added changed temperature of water in the lake, which occur after heavy rainfall, also affect oxygen level.
