    Excerpt
Lake authorities were looking into reports that the fish kill at the Laguna de Bay on Friday was caused by chemical spills from an alcohol distillery plant in Cabuyao town that burned down last week. This was after lake fisherfolk reported that the dead fish emitted an odor similar to the alcohol drink, said Gerry Carandang, information officer of the Laguna Lake development Authority (LLDA). He said fishermen saw about a hundred dead "tilapia" and "kanduli" floating off the coast of Barangay Caingin in Sta. Rosa City on Oct. 15.
