Officials of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) on Tuesday said that the P57-million fish kill in Taal, Batangas was due to depleted oxygen levels brought about by changing weather conditions. The officials added that the Taal fish kill is similar to that of Western Pangasinan where P400-million worth of milkfish, locally called bangus, died sometime July last year. Atty. Benjamin Tabios Jr, assistant director of BFAR, attributed the Taal fish kill to stock density and weather condition.en
