The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) regional office here assured that a widespread fish kill like that occurred in Batangas and Pangasinan provinces is a remote possibility in Western Visayas. BFAR Region 6 Director Drusila Bayate said that unlike in Luzon where fish growers, particularly of "bangus" or milkfish usually use fish cages for fish production but here in Region 6, bangus are grown in fishponds.
