Residents and owners of establishments in Coron, Palawan were confused by official notices to vacate that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) issued in May 2018. The notices gave the recipients 30 days to vacate and demolish their properties for alleged breaches of water codes, timberland restrictions or easement zones. Many of the residents are in limbo as they seek legal means to fight what they see as a David and Goliath battle.
