    Excerpt
Vice President Leni Robredo yesterday said any attempt from the government to give up the country's ownership and claims in the South China Sea should be strongly opposed. Robredo issued the statement in reaction to President Duterte's statement that China is in possession of islands in the South China Sea. On the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Singapore last Thursday, Duterte said it is not wise to hold military drills in the South China Sea because China is already in possession of islands in the area.
