'Hulbot-hulbot' more destructive than dynamite
Excerpt
An environmentalist urged owners and operators of “hulbot-hulbot” or Danish seine fishing to stop their illegal activities to preserve one of the richest fishing grounds in the world. Renowned environmentalist and lawyer Antonio Oposa Jr. made the call on July 31, 2018 as the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-6 and its partners implement more stringent rules against hulbot-hulbot. “I am asking on bended knees to the owners of hulbot-hulbot to please stop using it. We already have the law but we are speaking to them to their hearts to please stop,” Oposa said.
