The mayor of Nueva Valencia Guimaras appealed to President Benigno Aquino III to help hasten the case filed against those responsible for the massive oil spill in the island eight years ago. In a letter dated June 20, 2014, Nueva Valencia Mayor Emmanuel C. Galila appealed to Pres. Aquino to assist the fishermen's demands for just compensation for the damages caused by the spill. The letter was sent to the President as part of the 8th anniversary of the Guimaras oil spill yesterday.
