Some 1,000 remaining victims/claimants of the 2006 Guimaras oil spill have yet to receive their compensations seven years after the tragedy. This time, the claimants are asking President Benigno Aquino III’s help in releasing the money so that they can fully recover from the tragedy. Mayor Emmanuel Galila of Nueva Valencia town said they wrote and signed a petition letter which will be sent to President Aquino.
