    Excerpt
The Department of Tourism (DOT) in Region 6 offered free repairs and repainting of motorized boats in preparation for the reopening of Boracay Island in Aklan on October 26, 2018. DOT-6 Regional Director Helen Catalbas met Analy Ibabao and Mike Siñel of Malay Association Sailing Boat Owners Inc. (MASBOI) Sailboat Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Lenilyn Maming, secretary of Boracay Island Hopping Association (BIHA) Multi-purpose Cooperative to discuss the proposal. The two water transport groups welcomed the DOT-6’s proposal saying that they suffered because of the closure of Boracay Island to tourism activities.
