    Excerpt
Local governments play a key role in protecting marine resources, a Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) official said. They must come up with a plan to sustain marine life and have the “political will” to execute such plan, said BFAR-Antique chief Lorna Angor. Local governments must also impose measures strengthening the enforcement of local environmental laws and these must be accompanied by management initiatives, said Angor.
