BFAR-6 extends P300-M aid to Yolanda Victims

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR6) has extended a total of P300 million worth of assistance to typhoon Yolanda-affected fisherfolks in Western Visayas since 2013. BFAR-6 Regional Director Remia Aparri said the assistance came in the form of patrol boats, fishing gears, fishing equipment, and fishing materials, among others. “We will complete all our projects for the typhoon victims within the year,” she said. Next month, BFAR will distribute 81 fiberglass boats to fishermen whose boats were totally damaged by Supertyphoon Yolanda when it struck the country Nov. 8, 2013.
