Death threats presently hound the two top officials of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (Seafdec AQD) based in Tigbauan, Iloilo. These death threats were reportedly received by the two officials after the pickets and rallies of complaining researchers and scientists were joined by the union employees and militant groups identified to belong to the Bayan-Panay. No less than Col. Jogy Leo L. Fojas, commanding officer of Task Force Panay of the Philippine Army bases at camp Hernandez, Dingle, Iloilo informed Dr. Rolando Platon, Seafdec AQD chief and Dan Baliao, head of Administration and Finance Division, that NPA elements have already infiltrated the international research center.en
