    DA commits P2M for port rehab

    The Department of Agriculture (DA) committed to provide P2 million initial fund for the rehabilitation of port, procurement of ice plant and liquid quick freezer for Capiz fisherfolk. In his recent visit at Pilar town, DA Secretary Proceso Alcala assured Pilar fisherfolk the national government will help them recover from the devastations caused by supertyphoon Yolanda. He committed P2million initial fund for the rehabilitation of the fishing port and for the procurement of ice plant and liquid quick freezer. For the value added income of the fisherfolk and women’s empowerment, Alcala promised to conduct training on the processing of fish, seaweeds, deboning and craftsmanship demo on making shell crafts.
