Accusing the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) of being negligent, irresponsible and inefficient, victims of the oil spill in northern Iloilo demanded that the state-owned corporation pay them P225 million in damages. The lawsuit filed through the National Union of People's Lawyers claimed that PSALM - owner of Power Barge 103 that ran aground on the shores of Brgy. Botongon, Estancia and spilled bunker fuel - failed to take the necessary precautions.
