Recently, I received a copy of a new book, "Handbook of mangroves of the Philippines-Panay," and felt I was being given an extended lesson on mangroves. The book is written by a four-person team composed of Jurgenne H. Primavera, Resureccion B. Sadaba, Ma. Junemie H. L. Lebata and Jon Altamirano, scientists in the field of zoology, natural science, biology and ocean science and fisheries. The documentation was made possible with the support of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec) Aquaculture Department (AQD).
