    Excerpt
The controversial Rolando Platon, chief of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (Seafdec-AQD), has been reappointed to a fifth term despite the clamor of scientists and employees of the center for his ouster. In a letter dated April 8, Seafdec secretary general Niwes Ruangpanit congratulated Platon, as the Seafdec's council of directors unanimously confirmed his appointment during their 36th meeting in Bangkok, Thailand from April 6 to 9. Platon will serve a one-year term that took effect on April 8, said Ruangpanit.
