Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano reiterated the Duterte administration’s commitment to protect the country’s territory and economic rights in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). “We are very serious about protection and enjoyment of our sovereign rights. And territorial rights or property rights is not debatable. Property rights are economic rights,” he said. Cayetano, who will be attending the 51st Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) in Singapore, said “the concept of joint exploration and development is one of mechanism of cooperation.”
