PRRC, Cypher Odin ink deal on Pasig River rehab
Excerpt
The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) and Cypher Odin, a homegrown blockchain company, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to link its network by sharing and exchanging data vital to the resurrection of the 25-kilometer long river to its glory using blockchain technology. Cypher Odin CEO Mariano Villafuerte 4th hopes that using distributed ledger technology (DLT) will return the once glorious Pasig River to its former splendor — a place people can swim, spend time with their families, fish for livelihood, dine with friends, travel around Metro Manila, and even hold wedding ceremonies. The dream is to see the place bustling with activity, maybe even a few dolphins. Under the deal, the PRRC and Cypher Odin commit to cooperate within the framework of their respective mandates and authority in the implementation of activities. Aside from linking both their networks, the parties also agree to meet regularly and identify problem areas while providing solutions.
