    SEAFDEC makes first seabass harvest in Antique town

    The Southeast Sian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department based in Tigbauan-Iloilo saw its initial seabass harvest las February 2 at its project site in Hamtic, Antique after five months of culture. The SEAFDEC project in "Institutional Capacity Building on Sustainable Aquaculture" was conducted in partnership with Antique Rep. Exequiel Javier who allocated P5000,000 from his Countryside Development Fund for the undertaking. The first harvest yielded about 200 pieces of seabass, weighing 83 kilograms, with each fish weighing nearly half a kilo.
