The Aquaculture Department (AQD) of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) is developing an early warning system to guard against the negative impacts of fish cages in mariculture parks. This is certainly good news to fish cages operators who stand to lose the investment should fish kills occur and to Mother Nature Itself. According to the Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the government has to far put up 34 mariculture parks around the country.
