    Excerpt
Life on a small island with a spectacular view of sunrise and sunset, an island with a tropical forest teeming with wildlife, with white sand beaches and colorful fishes in the crystal-clear waters of the sea --- many people dream of such a life. The rare sea turtles laying eggs on the beach, the beautiful corals gleaming underneath the water, the majestic limestone cliffs, the calm lagoons, big and small, with shimmering waters ---they are part of the dream. Laririt, who was a former professor of biology at the University of the Philippines, said the protection and conservation of El Nido has become a challenge because of its increasing popularity and it has been drawing people from all over the world.
