The Regional Maritime Unit 6 (RMU-6) will strictly implement the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998 or Republic Act 8550 in Western Visayas. "One way of protecting our marine life and coral reefs is to arrest those who will violate the law "Regional Director Mitchell Jamili said. The Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998 is an act providing for the development, management and conservation of the fisheries and aquatic resources, integrating all laws pertinent thereto and for other purposes.
