200 Aklan employees to plant 8,000 mangroves

About 200 employees of the Provincial Capitol of Aklan will plant 8,000 mangrove propagules on January 22 at the Bakhawan Eco-Park in New Buswang here. Activity organizer Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD) said the mangrove-planting activity in the two-hectare mangrove area is an effort to help global measures aimed to mitigate the impact of climate change. In 1994, the Bakhawan Eco-Park was bestowed the Galing Pook Award.
