Dr. Ma. Junemie Hazel L. Lebata-Ramos, a BS Biology and MS Fisheries alumna of UP Visayas, has been chosen as one of the three winners of the Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers (JIAYAR) for 2009. The award is given by the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS). Dr. Lebata-Ramos will receive the award at the University of Tokyo in Japan on November 4, 2009 during which time, she will also make a 15-minute presentation of her research projects. The award is a recognition of the contribution of young agricultural researchers to technological development for the improvement of food security and the environment in developing countries.
