    Excerpt
Misamis Occidental wants to become a major fisheries producer in northern Mindanao through its new marine fishery, the Agriculture department said yesterday. "The hatchery is expected to produce an annual output of 576, 000 grouper (lapu-lapu or pugapo) fry, which will help guarantee a stable supply of fish for the province, "Joebert D. Toledo, aquaculture chief of the Southeast Asia Fisheries Development Center, said in a statement. The center provided technical support, technology and supervision over the project, worth P8.8 million.
