Helmet shells seized in Sulu

Police and Bureau of Fisheries have intercepted 106 boxes of helmet shells, an endangered marine specie, at Chinese Pier in Jolo, Sulu police director Sr. Supt. Abraham Orbita said. He said the shells, which are sold in the black market for its ornamental value, were bound for Cebu and Manila and the owner was identified as 60-year-old Peralta Pula. “Each box contained 15 to 23 helmet shells in varying sizes,” Pula said.
