Criminal charges have been filed by the Iloilo Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force (IPBDTF) against 10 fishermen who were caught using the forbidden "hulbot-hulbot" off Banate Bay, a protected marine reserve in Banate town. The respondents were facing charges for violation of Fisheries Administrative Order No. 246 (Banning the Use of Danish Seine) and section 86 (Unauthorized Fishing) and 95 (Use of Active Gears in Municipal Waters) of Republic Act 10654 at Iloilo Prosecutor's Office. Onboard an unnamed motorboat, Police Officers 3 Charlie Asturias, Ariel Aragona, Emerson Cordero, and Philip Cañoso identified the boat captain as Mark Sueta, 38 and boat mechanic as Emilio Escario, 42.
