Eight fishermen using active gears within the municipal waters of Carles and Concepcion towns were apprehended from Oct. 25 to 27. They were detained in jails, according to Police Officer 3 Charlie Asturias of Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force. The use of active gears within the municipal waters is a violation of Section 95 of Republic Act 106541, amending Republic Act 8550 (Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998).
