    Excerpt
There is a need to increase the budget for the fisheries sector in the country, said National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Western Visayas regional director Ro-ann Bacal. During the news conference for the 2015 Report of the Regional Economic Performance of Western Visayas on July 28 at Seda Atria, Iloilo City, the NEDA chief emphasized the decelerating growth of the fisheries industry in the region. According to the report by the Philippine Statistics Authority, the fisheries sector slowed down from 5 percent in 2014 to 3.4 percent in 2015.
