HS seniors help organize run for La Mesa watershed
Excerpt
Millennials are in the forefront of a sporting event that aims to highlight environmental awareness among city dwellers when the third and final leg of the Compressport Forest Run is held at the La Mesa Nature Reserve on Sunday. Twelve Grade 12 students of the Immaculate Concepcion Academy are part of the organizing committee of the forest run, which includes four distances – 6K, 12K, 21K and the full 42-kilometer marathon. The previous legs of the forest run were held in 2016 and 2017. Headed by Alyssa Christine Ty, the group includes Monique Cosiquien, Summer Go, Samantha Golangco and Beatrice Dy. The high school seniors head different committees in the campaign to bring back nature to the busy life of Metro Manila and create awareness of the environment.
