    Excerpt
Bue crabs or kasag production in Western Visayas declined by 45 percent from 1992 to 2015, prompting efforts to enhance the sought-after crustacean’s survival. During the Media Brunch on Blue Economy for Sustainable Seas, last Dec 6, 2017, at Hotel Del Rio in Iloilo City, Dr. Wilfredo Campos the University of the Philippines Visayas presented his ongoing research on habitats of baby blue crabs. The purpose of the study is to determine the “nurseries” of blue crab juveniles so that proper conservation and protection measures of their natural habitats may be implemented.
