Based on the latest laboratory results of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and Local Government Units (LGUs), shellfishes collected at coastal waters of Daram Island, Cambatutay, Irong-Irong, Maqueda and Villareal Bays in Western Samar; Matarinao Bay in Eastern Samar; Carigara Bay in Leyte; Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur; Honda Bay, Puerto Princesa City in Palawan; coastal waters of Mandaon in Masbate; and coastal waters of Bataan (Mariveles, Limay, Orion, Pilar, Balanga, Orani, Abucay and Samal) are still positive for paralytic shellfish poison that is beyond the regulatory limit. Moreover, coastal waters of Leyte in Leyte are now positive for the red tide toxin.
