    Excerpt
Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SMPC) was named first runner-up in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category of the 2015 Asean Energy Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The company won for its reef rehabilitation efforts in Semirara Island. The rehab project involves spawning and reseeding endangered giant clams through its Marine Hatchery Laboratory. Reseeded giant clams promote diversity where they live as they attract corals, fishes and smaller marine biota.
