"Accurate data on streamflow and surface run-off could help regulate water use," said Dr. Lope Villenas of the Center for Environmental Studies and Management (CESM) during a recent roll-out activity for the Iloilo-Batiao River Basin Management and Development Master Plan. Villenas is the team leader of the research team that helped formulate the management and development master plan for the Iloilo-Batiao River Basin. The objective of the master plan is to integrate the river basin management in the development framework that will help address concerns of climate change and flooding issues, drought, water resources, water quality and institutional arrangements.
