    Excerpt
The recent Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum on food security and blue economy is geared towards putting the farmers in the global supply chain. In response, Asis Perez, national director of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), said they are putting up 500 fish landing centers and fish freezers to provide market access to small fishermen. “Connectivity or enabling the fishers to directly deal with the market is our priority. We have funds for these projects. The 252 landings are funded by the 2015 and 2016 budget,” said Perez during a press conference at the Iloilo Convention Center last week.
