'New' Boracay opens
Excerpt
The reopening of Boracay on Friday, October 26, will coincide with the launch of the Boracay icon, a huge sign that will welcome tourists, and the inauguration of the reconstructed main road, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said. DENR Undersecretary Sherwin Rigor said the marker, which will serve as a welcome sign to ferry passengers approaching the island, is a “fitting symbol showcasing the “new” Boracay. The marker constitutes the word “Boracay” and has a 50-foot vertical garden backdrop.
