Dr. Joebert D. Toldeo says the world is relying more and more on aquaculture rather that capture fisheries to feed a population that has grown to 7 billion. Toledo, chief of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD), said experts have also noted a shift in dietary preference for seafood, owing to health concerns. In an interview, Toledo noted that climate change has affected the migration of pelagic fish and stressed that this is apparent in the absence of large schools of fish in traditional fishing grounds.en
