The total ban on "Hublot-Hublot" ( fishing vessel using Danish Seine fishing gear) is among the issues to be discussed by Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Director Atty. Asis G. Perez during the 4th Visayan Sea Summit to be held at Hotel del Rio in Iloilo City this coming Friday. The use of the "hulbot-hulbot" is prohibited within a certain area as defined under Republic Act 8550 known as the Philippine Fisheries Code 1998. Several coastal municipalities in Iloilo province have also passed ordinances prohibiting "hulbot- hulbot" in their municipal waters.
