To further improve the aquaculture industry in Western Visayas, the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to conduct trainings. According to SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department chief Felix Ayson, they have already submitted 13 training modules on aquaculture to TESDA. Established in 1967 SEAFDEC's main thrust is to promote fisheries development in Southeast Asia.
