The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) based in Tigbauan, Iloilo will hold a "mud crab congress" from Oct. 16 to 18. The three-day gathering in this city will focus primarily on mud crabs' biology, hatchery, nursery, go out production, and socio-economics. SEAFDEC researchers recently warned of the adverse effects of the drought this year until the middle of 2016 on the country's mud crab production, including that in Capiz, the recognized "Seafood Capital of the Philippines."en
