Mangrove protectors who are members of the Suyac Island Eco-Tourism Association (SIETAS) and Mangrove Warriors of Barangay Old Sagay trained on Basic MAngrove Taxonomy, biodiversity, climate change and eco-tourism. The Department of Tourism VI and the local government of Sagay, through the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting (GPB) also known as Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB), conducted the three-day training in Suyac Island, Sagay City. The participants during identification of mangrove species in Suyac Island Mangrove Eco Park learned how to compare the actual mangrove species with the mangrove guide and they were also taught the proper way of planting mangroves.
