Seventeen fishermen engaged in Danish Seine fishing were charged with illegal fishing before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office. The complaint was specifically for violation of Fisheries Administrative Order No. 246 that bans Danish Seine and Modified Danish Seine fishing methods. The fishermen were apprehended for violation of Section 86 (unauthorized fishing) of Republic Act 8550.
