    10 nabbed for illegal fishing

    Ten persons were arrested last week for alleged illegal fishing in the waters of Panay. The Panay police and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) personnel conducted seaborne patrol which resulted in the arrest of: boat captain Edilberto Beraro and fishing crew Sonny Batuigas, LansoArtates, Marvin Aparijado, Niño Alvarado, Jovit Villegas, Jomer Sulleta, JonardBurlas, Jonny Asutase and Zesar Sulleta. The arrested persons will be charged for Violating Municipal Ordinance No. 03-02 series of 2003 and Republic Act 8550 for using active fishing gears.
